Philosophy and vision

Serenata was born as a group of friends who would get together to do one of the things they love the most: singing; singing together.

We are driven by our passion for choral music as well as our desire to have a great time both when we sing and when we don’t; and it is precisely this perspective that we take as a basis for planning and carrying out all our projects.

Repertoire, original compositions and arrangements

Under this approach and within our possibilities as a camera formation, we bet on the diversity of repertoire in terms of genres, styles, periods, authors, themes and languages.

In the same way, we combine the performance of music originally composed for choral ensembles with arrangements of other types of works.

In this respect, it is worth mentioning that during the last few years we have been able to premiere and perform a considerable number of arrangements composed expressly for Serenata by two of its members: Miguel Bruñó Sanchis and Ana Ferrer Fornes. At the same time, we have been lucky enough to premiere and perform several origina choral compositions written by them. We invite you to visit tuarreglocoral.es: their joint project of personalized choral arrangements.

Musical projects

On the other hand, we not only encourage variety in our repertoire, but also in the type of projects we carry out, ranging from solo performances to participation in festivals, competitions or international meetings, through symphonic-choral concerts, or concerts and exchanges with other musical groups in Spain or abroad.

ABOUT US

who we are

Serenata cor de cambra is a young choral ensemble of mixed voices composed of thirteen performers with extensive experience in important choral groups in València. Nearly all its members study or have studied music in different conservatories of Spain; and some are professional musicians or are engaged in teaching music.

This vocal ensemble, created in 2016 and constituted as a non-profit cultural association in 2022, is conceived as a chamber choir in which all members actively participate in decision-making and in the development of rehearsals, providing different points of view that are discussed and evaluated about the interpretation of each work, with no single musical director.
On the other hand, the group does not limit itself to interpreting a specific genre of choral repertoire, but is committed to diversity, in order to be trained and have the tools to work with all types of music, even broadening the spectrum to include pieces that are not originally choral, through the creation and interpretation of its own arrangements.

In 2022 Serenata cor de cambra made its first trip abroad to participate in the XLI International Festival of Orthodox Church Music “Hajnówka” in Białystok (Poland), becoming the first Spanish group to attend this contest in its forty-one editions, and being awarded the third prize in the category of secular choirs. In 2023 it participated in the XXXIX Certamen Coral “Villa de Avilés”, obtaining the third prize.
Likewise, it has been invited to take part in various meetings and exchanges with other musical groups, projects, festivals or concerts both within and outside Spain; while it has organized and promoted many others. In this sense, it is worth mentioning its participation in the Festival Intramurs of València (2017); in the symphonic-choral benefit concert “Dreamers in White”, held at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía of València (2023); in the XVI Trobada de cors “Valldigna” (2024); in the 36º Encuentro Coral Internacional “Ciudad de Torrevieja” (2024); or in the exchange carried out with the chamber choir Cantus Solis of Karlsruhe, Germany (2024).
